Classic German-style fruit schnapps and aperitifs are crafted in the Chamonix distillery in traditional German copper kettles, and local chocolatiers produce Chamonix Stangen - fruit schnapps encased in Belgian chocolate. Eau de Chamonix is sourced from underground springs in the Franschhoek mountains and is of the purest and healthiest water available in South Africa. This water is also supplied to leading retail outlets in South Africa. Chamonix also has self-catering cottages which are a great way to spend a weekend or holiday; tranquility with breathtaking views. Chamonix wines can be tasted and purchased daily from 9:30am until 4.30pm in the old Blacksmiths Cottage, a quaint building dating back to the 18th century, decorated with antique saddles and horse memorabilia.
