Established in 1996, Wine Concepts has evolved into a customer focused boutique wine company. Partners Michael Bampfield-Duggan, Murray Giggins, Derick Henstra and Peter Fehrson all share a passion for wine which culminated in their first retail store in Cape Towns’ famous Castle of Good Hope in 1998. Since then the business occupies premises in Newlands, Cape Town and has a franchise store in Kloof Street, Cape Town. The partners have a combined knowledge and experience of 50 years in the South African wine industry.

Our shops have common design elements, providing a look that is contemporary and reflect the clean hi-tech look of modern wineries. This image was developed by well known Cape Town architect, Derick Henstra who is also one of the directors of Wine Concepts.

Wine Concepts concentrates on discovering wines that not only deliver quality but value too. We particularly seek those examples that are handcrafted, iconic, everyday and personal. As such we have a varied selection from famous South African stalwarts to little undiscovered garagiste examples, in short a wine for everyone no matter what the budget.
